Sweet potato beef bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 garlic clove
02 - 1 onion
03 - 800 g of sweet potatoes
04 - 400 g of ground beef
05 - 80 g of shredded cheese (mozzarella, comte, emmental...)
06 - 10 cl of liquid cream or milk
07 - 1 tbsp olive oil
08 - Salt and pepper
09 - Nutmeg (optional)
10 - Herbs like Provence mix or smoked paprika (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into cubes. Boil or steam them for about 15-20 minutes, or until soft. Drain and mash them with cream. Add some salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg if you'd like. Set aside.
02 - Slice up the onion and garlic, then sauté them in olive oil in a pan. Toss in the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook it through until browned. For extra flavor, you can sprinkle in paprika, herbs, or a bit of tomato sauce.
03 - Take an ovenproof dish and spread the cooked beef mixture across the bottom. Add the sweet potato mash on top and cover everything with grated cheese.
04 - Heat your oven to 180°C. Bake the dish for 20-25 minutes until the cheese on top melts and turns golden. You can use the grill for a few minutes at the end to get a darker crust.

# Notes:

01 - Swap out part of the sweet potatoes for regular potatoes for a less sweet taste.
02 - This is a great dish to prep in advance and freeze for later.
03 - Love heat? Add a dash of mild chili or curry powder to the beef.
