01 -
Chop off the tops of the strawberries, then blend them into a slightly chunky puree using a food processor. Set aside for now.
02 -
Heat up your oven to 400°F so it's ready to bake.
03 -
Stir together both types of flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda in a mixing bowl.
04 -
In a large bowl, whip together the egg, butter, and sugar at medium-high speed for about two minutes. Add the vanilla, buttermilk, and blended strawberries into the mix until everything's smooth and combined.
05 -
Slowly fold the dry mix into the wet ingredients on low speed. Be gentle—don’t overdo it. Scrape down the sides of the bowl if needed.
06 -
Spoon the batter into a piping bag or a freezer bag to make it easier to fill the molds. Place the bag in a glass to hold it steady while filling. Snip off a corner of the bag for piping.
07 -
Grease your donut molds and pipe the batter in, only halfway full. Bake on the middle rack for 7-8 minutes.
08 -
Mix a little milk into some powdered sugar in a small bowl and set the glaze aside.
09 -
Place the baked donuts on a wire rack and drizzle the icing across the tops, letting it drip down the sides. You can also dunk the donut tops into the glaze if you'd like. Let them sit for about 20-30 minutes until the glaze hardens before enjoying!
