Crispy tofu sticks (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Tofu Prep

01 - ¼ cup cornstarch
02 - 400g firm tofu, drained and pressed
03 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
04 - ½ teaspoon onion powder
05 - Pinch of salt and pepper, to taste
06 - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

→ Honey Mustard Sauce

07 - 2 tablespoons honey (use maple syrup for a vegan option)
08 - ¼ cup Dijon mustard
09 - 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
10 - ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a spicy kick)
11 - ½ teaspoon paprika

# Instructions:

01 - Wrap the tofu in a clean cloth or paper towels, then place something heavy on top. Leave it for at least 10 minutes to squeeze out extra water.
02 - Cut the tofu into sticks about 2.5 cm wide once it's pressed.
03 - Stir cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper together in a shallow dish. Dip each tofu stick into the mixture so it's evenly coated.
04 - Pour vegetable oil into a large pan and warm it over medium heat. Cook the tofu sticks for 3-4 minutes per side, flipping when golden and crispy. Take them out of the pan and set aside.
05 - In a small bowl, blend together Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, paprika, and cayenne (if using) until smooth.
06 - Arrange the crispy tofu sticks on a serving plate and pair with the honey mustard sauce for dipping.

# Notes:

01 - These tofu sticks are a fantastic meat-free swap for chicken nuggets.
02 - For a lighter version, bake the tofu sticks at 200°C for 25-30 minutes, turning them halfway through.
