Classic oatmeal porridge (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup (240 ml) of water
02 - 1 cup (240 ml) milk or plant-based milk
03 - 1 cup (90g) oats
04 - 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
05 - A small pinch of salt
06 - Maple syrup (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Heat up the water and milk in a small pot until it starts bubbling.
02 - Turn the heat way down, then stir in the oats, salt, and cinnamon.
03 - Keep it cooking without a lid for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens. Take it off the heat and let it cool a bit.
04 - Split it evenly between two bowls. Top it off with whatever you like and a drizzle of maple syrup, if you want.

# Notes:

01 - You can enjoy your oatmeal plain or sweeten it up with maple syrup, agave, honey, or brown sugar.
02 - For a baby-friendly version (for 5+ months), grind the oats into a fine powder using a food processor first, then make it the same way as usual. Once your baby is older, you can skip the grinding step and use regular oats. Babies love this with unsweetened applesauce or other fruit purees mixed in, and it’s 100% baby-approved!
