Heat your oven to 180°C. Slowly melt dark chocolate with butter using a water bath.

Split egg whites from yolks. Mix yolks with sugar until pale, then add your melted chocolate.

Fold in sifted flour gently. Whip egg whites until stiff peaks form and carefully blend into the mixture.

Pour everything into a buttered cake pan and bake for around 20 minutes.

Let it cool completely then turn out onto a wire rack.

Melt the remaining chocolate and drizzle it to create twig patterns on the cake. When the chocolate hardens, arrange the sugar eggs nicely to look like a nest.
