Cheesy Veggie Burger (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the burgers

01 - 2 burger buns
02 - A couple of big dollops of unsalted butter
03 - 130 g of barbecue-flavored plant-based shredded protein
04 - 8 slices of cheddar cheese
05 - A couple handfuls of fried onions
06 - Two handfuls of lettuce

→ For the sauce

07 - 1 tablespoon of mayo
08 - 1 tablespoon of ketchup
09 - Half a teaspoon of mustard
10 - Half a teaspoon of smoked paprika
11 - A sprinkle of cayenne pepper
12 - Half a teaspoon of powdered garlic
13 - 2 or 3 stalks of chives

# Instructions:

01 - Mix the mayo, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper till smooth. Chop up the chives finely and toss them in too.
02 - Melt the butter in a hot skillet. Place the buns cut side down into the pan and let them toast until golden brown.
03 - Prepare the plant-based shredded mix following the directions on its package.
04 - Warm up your oven to 140°C (top and bottom heating). Assemble it like this: spoon some sauce on the bottom bun, add two slices of cheddar, scatter a bit of lettuce, layer the barbecue-style shredded protein on, then fried onions, another two cheddar slices, some salt, and pepper. Spread a bit of sauce on the top bun and pop it on.
05 - Repeat to make the second burger. Bake them briefly in the oven to get the cheese melty. Dig in while they're hot!
