Brazilian Grilled Sardines (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Marinade mix

01 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
02 - 2 tablespoons lime juice
03 - 2 garlic cloves, chopped
04 - 1 tablespoon chili flakes
05 - 1 teaspoon ground cumin
06 - Salt and pepper to taste

→ Fish prep

07 - 8 fresh sardines, cleaned and gutted
08 - 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

→ Toppings

09 - Chopped fresh cilantro
10 - Sliced red onion
11 - Lime wedges
12 - Optional: Extra chili flakes for heat

# Instructions:

01 - Combine olive oil, lime juice, chopped garlic, chili flakes, ground cumin, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Stir everything together. Put the sardines in a shallow dish and pour the mixture over them. Cover and let them sit in the fridge for 15-30 minutes so the flavors can soak in.
02 - Get your grill nice and hot at medium-high heat. Brush some olive oil on the grill bars so the fish won't stick. Put your marinated sardines on and cook them about 4-5 minutes per side until they're golden and a bit charred. When done, take them off and put them on your serving plate.
03 - Sprinkle the grilled sardines with fresh cilantro and sliced red onion. Add lime wedges on the side and throw on some extra chili flakes if you want more kick.
